Schools Data Services (SDS) provides a behaviour, attendance monitoring system called IRIS to secondary schools in the UK.
What is IRIS?
IRIS is a highly versatile behaviour monitoring and statistical analysis tool. Easy to use, its simple and intuitive menu structure and input screens enable users to become proficient with minimal training.
Powerful, simple data analysis
IRIS provides probably the most powerful real-time analysis of behaviour and rewards available to schools. Based on a bespoke data frame, IRIS offers a depth, speed and flexibility of analysis unrivalled by any similar application. Users can start with an overview of the whole school and drill down into the analysis, finishing with an individual student's behaviour and rewards record; each stage with just a single click of the mouse.
Log-in from anywhere
IRIS is securely accessible over the internet, so users can log into the system, view and analyse the data and print off reports from home or even abroad. Parents and students can also have their own remote log-in to see their behaviour and rewards record and 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
With IRIS you can now track pupils off-site
With the increasing provision of Diploma courses, more and more school are sending pupils out to other schools and colleges during the school week. This creates problems for schools in tracking pupil attendance and behaviour whilst they are attending off-site provision.
You can now use IRIS’s new feature to track your pupils while they are off-site. Attendance logged at college is immediately viewable back at your school; when behaviour incidents are logged, email and text alerts can be immediately sent to staff back in the parent school. Details of the incident are viewable immediately on the pupil’s behaviour history in school.

Ease of use
Data is entered into IRIS via user-defined menus and text boxes. Follow-up actions and comments from senior/pastoral staff can be easily added at any time.
